Travel Grants for UiO Students

This is a joint funding scheme for students going on exchange through the University of Oslo’s (UiO) exchange programmes. The grant is intended to cover costs related to travel and accommodation.

In 2015, UNIFOR and UiO entered into a framework agreement covering the foundations that support UiO students. The funds from these foundations are allocated to students participating in UiO’s exchange programmes.

Priority Areas

The priority areas for the period up to and including the academic year 2027/2028 are:

  1. Travel grants for students at the University of Oslo who are undertaking exchange studies, internships, or fieldwork in English-speaking countries within the Panorama initiative, namely the United States and Canada.

  2. Travel grants for students at the University of Oslo who are undertaking exchange studies at universities within the Circle U. alliance.

  3. Travel grants for the University of Oslo’s exchange ambassadors, enabling them to travel within the host country and to share their experiences with fellow students at the University of Oslo.


Grant Amount

The grant amount ranges from NOK 5,000 to 20,000, depending on the number of qualified students and the total available funding from the foundations.

Grant Distribution

Eligible students are contacted directly by UiO. It is not possible to apply for support directly from the foundations in this scheme. The grant is paid to the bank account registered by the student with UiO’s Department of Academic Support.

Reporting

All students receiving a grant must submit a report detailing how the funds were used.
